Skerries supporting Sodo

The community of Skerries in north Dublin has been running a series of projects in the Sodo region of southern Ethiopia through Self Help Africa, and Connect Ethiopia, development agencies based in Portlaoise and Dublin, Ireland. This community of around 10,000 people have managed to raise in excess of €55,000 and are in their third year of a five year plan involving primary and secondary schools, irrigation systems, introduction of new crops, animal husbandry etc. Their efforts are corralled by the hugely energetic Sandra O’Sullivan and you can read all about their projects on the Sodo-Skerries website here.
